I don't see the reason for sarcasm. Russia did not have interests to kill Politkovskaya. As i told before, she wasn't famous in Russia.

And the west had much more interest in her death, especially that she was killed 2 days before the summit where Russia was forced to sign up Energetic Charter. Her death was used for pressure on Russia.

But Russia did not sign up that one-sided agreement, and that possibly saved lives of tens of journalists in Russia.

Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe were loosing their popularity and got famous only after they died/murdered.
