Here are some of the positive effects of Bush's policies. . .

1) Iran has become more powerful.

Iran's Influence Growing In Iraq

That's right. Prior to the 2003 invasion of Iraq, Iran had nary an influence there, since Saddam brutally oppressed all the Shiites.

But now, with Iran's new influence among Iraqi Shiites, the US govt.'s ability to reign in Iraq w/the threat of force has been sharply reduced, since Iran can now foment massive uprisings against US troops in Iraq to retaliate, and the increased US-troop death toll from that would be enough to derail any Presidency (including the next Pres Hillary, who has said she will not withdraw all US troops from Iraq)

2) The US opened talks with Iran for the first time in 27 years.

That's right, before Bush, the US totally isolated Iran. But Bush put a stop to that, broke the ice, and decided to open lines of communications to Iran. . .

3) US aid to the Palestinians, i. e. Fatah, the party formerly led by PLO-resistance leader and terrorist Yasser Arafat, has resumed.

Resumption of U.S. aid to Palestinians leaves some lawmakers uneasy - International Herald Tribune

Of course, some pro-Israeli govt. "lawmakers are uneasy" (a certain CT senator comes to mind), but the Palestinians desperately need aid to stay on top of their #1 threat, Israel.

Money to Palestinian fighters is always a good thing.

4) Amnesty will be granted to 8 million illegal aliens.

CNN.com - Bush calls for changes on illegal workers - Jan. 8, 2004

No doubt the cherry on top of all the Bush administration's efforts. Now all the hard-working illegal immigrants who work here can take part in the American dream without the fear of being deported. And, to state the obvious, keeping hard-working ambitious people in this country is always a good thing.

5) GOP majority in Congress has been destroyed.

Thought I'd save this for the last. When Bush entered office, the GOP had solid majorities in both Houses. And in 2006, primarily due to discontent with the war, the Dems control both.

Of course, the Dems and Repubs are very nearly the same thing.

Still, they say the Dems will take stronger measures on the environment and enact less industry-clouted health care laws. We can hope now, can't we?

Let's all give Bush a hand for these 5 wonderful accomplishments!
How in the hell is Iran becoming more powerful a good thing? Amnesty isn't good either, nor is aiding Palestinian terrorist organizations... Are you being sarcastic? 'Cus it's kind of hard to tell online...
