Well since you're so fond of statistics, you may wish to consider that 750,000 defensive gun uses per year works out to ~2055 times PER DAY. Now maybe you cant comprehend this, but 2000 is a LOT bigger than 35 (i refuse to consider suicides in this because they have nothing to do with gun control).
