I've noted elsewhere, Turkey has a long-standing threat to militarily crush any mention of Kurdish sovereignty. Iran and Russia can be expected to support Turkey's interest here.
I appreciate the input, it isnt necessary to assume there is no knowledge of the history of the region on my part. I wonder if those countries fully realise the potential boon for themselves an independent Kurdsistan would bring to them, if the establishment was done right.
Ultimately Rabbit, I am attepting to think outside the box in terms of real workable solutions that havent been given the thought it might deserve.

And the number one issue of Kurdistan and their neighbors is the way the Iraqi Kurds allow other (PKK) Kurds to use Iraq as a safe haven for their terrorist attacks against Turkey.
For sure, but you know as well as I do, that one man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter.

And nothing has changed here in the last 20-30 years.
Ah but there has been a huge change in the last 5 years. Saddam is out of power. The Kurds have complied very well in terms of accepting US presence, and expressing the desire to be free, democratic, and prosperous. And having the actions to follow it up.
I am much more of a fan of supporting the people who want our help, than shoving the help down the throats of people who dont.
