Matt and Eric have already told me that they wouldn't even respond if a stranger on the street abused them verbally, since doing that might escalate into a violent conflict. I brought out the spitting example since that would be even more provoking than someone abusing you verbally. |
actually the law varies from city to city and state to state concerning what constitutes a physical assault.
in this locality , if you spit on me I am within my rights to respond to a physical attack ( this means you get your ass kicked )
as an enforcement officer , I would encourage you to go get cleaned up and not assault anyone else or you would find yourself in jail for your behavior.
