Re: Should Ron Paul Accept Money From "White Supremacists" ??

Unfortunately, in politics, appearance is everything. What someone says is quickly undone by what they do, especially when the prevailing public attitude towards something is negative.

Of course, Paul is free to accept the donations from white supremists. He’s also free to accept the donations of Nevada brothel owner Dennis Hof:

Hookers For Paul

By doing so, though, it appears as though Ron Paul, by accepting their endorsements, also endorses them. Whether he actually does or not is of no consequence. The appearance that he does is there.

I believe it’s safe to say that most people in this country disagree with white supremacy. Probably fewer, but by no stretch an insignificant number, disagree with legalized prostitution. If he accepts donations from these people, that’s completely fair and legal, but it will also only hurt him in the long run, as the appearance will be that he supports legalized prostitution and white supremacy, and I don’t think that America is ready for a President that would support those things…
