For the most part I agree with you, but when the result of a vote has huge consequences, even Canadians can be awaken.

I was 18 at the time, and glued to the TV the entire night watching CBC for the results of the referendum in my small hometown of Hudson, Qc.
The results if I remember correctly were 51.1% No, 49.9% Yes.
