Well, I suppose it shouldn't be surprising given that most Americans ignore these things in the first place. Just trying to bring a little history into the discussion of illegal immigration to give an idea as to why people are streaming across the border in the first place. I was also trying to show that people have always been afraid of immigrants, but eventually, they assimilate into the culture and become positive cogs in the American machine just as every other ethnicity. But I guess that was a bit outlandish.
