Be careful who you ask out on a date is all. When you approach someone you find attractive you'll first say something like:
"Say, I noticed you and think you're attractive. However to avoid any possible bad situations later can I first shine my little penlight in your groin area to see if we might be compatible sexually ?"

I prefer just to ask any new people that I meet up front what gender they are. It's strange - I seem to have a hard time making friends for some reason.
