IMO, it's a very common offence unfortunately. I don't condone it, but it's a common one and not necessarily a sign of poor character overall. After all, Bush did get a DUI conviction, and Cheney actually had two DUI convictions. It was never a point of attack for me against Bush or Cheney and so long as it is this person's first arrest in this case, I would just leave it to the court to decide. I'm far more concerned about felonies, violent crimes, crimes involving corruption and other dishonesty and other matters involving moral turpitude.
