I am still of the opinion that the issues concerning the general welfare of the Union, are of more relevant at the national level than local concerns that only affect a "local" populace.
Solving for official poverty could render that point moot as a political issue.
I think most of our politicians have already gamed the system long enough with making political mountain issues of what are, in reality, political mole hill issues.
When are we going to start holding our elected federal officials accountable for issues that affect the Union, and not merely a segment of the Union?
