It's fair to question his judgment because of unwavering loyalty to his church and his pastor. It's fair to question his judgment because he promotes liberal policies. It's unfair to suggest that his opinions regarding race are any more than a belief that we should recognize the problems if we're going to overcome them.

Not true, RFK, hes already a liberal, he didn't need this to convince cons or build his street cred with KOS or the Movon org set. He already had the highest liberal rating of any senator in congress.
BUT he did cement that in the voters eyes and thats why I think his speech was a miss not a hit. He could have lured undecided reagan dems,independents/moderates, evangelical Christians, Jews etc. He thrilled his base among blacks and lib's supporters but lost an opportunity to appeal to those centrist voices and minds. All he did in that speech is confirm his liberal outlook, notice how the media picked up on that.
He also took another shot at the usual boogeyman, ..yea, its all big biz and the cons...that's not only intellectually dishonest, but very helpful so much for non divisive honesty.
The government carries far more responsibility for the black "plight"
today that any other entity I can think of, and that means to a large extent, the liberal guilt complex and all its macinations. Reward sans responsibility.

A 50% drop out rate (its higher the closer to urban centers you get), children out of wedlock rates 2 1/2 times higher than it was in 1964, the disappearance of the black father from the home, he might have addressed how that doesn't' appear to be working out either, but I guess cosbys book or Oprahs examples weren’t enough, which leads me to another question; why did she leave Wrights church abruptly in 1994? After a decade of attendance? I tripped on over to the oprah website, they are lambasting obama.....
