I initially dismissed it but was taking a break and decided to watch the 60 min video by he BBC who are a reputable new organization.
The problem with the whole thing is that the minute people hear Al Qaeda and "don't exist" they tune out and consider it a conspiracy theory. I don't blame them because 9/11 did happen.
The video demonstrates that bin Laden only has a few thug supporters and financed local Islamic militias in troubled parts of the world who were warm to his ideology but more interested in their own agendas.
Bin Laden did manage the 98 embassy bombings and cooperate with Khalid Sheik Mohammed to carry out 9/11. Those small networks have since been destroyed the video says and there is no network of terror operatives anywhere. Bush could declare the war on terror won and honestly we'd have to give him credit because that would be true. It would save his legacy but not help his interests so unfortunately it wont happen.
All the arrests in the USA (Detroit, Buffalo) that were touted as huge terror busts were complete fallacies and the convictions have been overturned.
In order for this to become mainstream you couldn't use "Al Qaeda never existed" as a headline because as I said people would tune out. It should be gradually revealed that Al Qaeda has been destroyed and was never as large at the Bush admin wanted you to believe.
