What do you think about this BBC documentary that essentially says Bin Laden was never more than a leader of a few thugs and that Al Qaeda doesn't exist? I think they give compelling evidence across the board that shows this to be true.

I don't buy it. The 9/11 attacks required a huge degree of organized stealth, training, coordination, funding, and planning. The organization had also pulled off numerous bombings and attacks prior to 9/11 and after 9/11.

Al Qaida definitely exists... even if it was a relatively small, tight group.

I think the scope of Al Qaida and it's abilities, reach, and membership have been and continue to be overstated. In some respects, it doesn't matter though. Al Qaida is more or less a template for the growing radical Islamic movement. Terrorism will be carried out by many splinter groups that may hold Al Qaida as their inspiration.
