I have been to China and did not find it as most Americans think it is. It is not a third world country. In fact China is very wealthy. I found gentle, kind, and happy people there. And being older I was treated much better than I am in my own country. This I think is largely due to 2000 years of Confucianism.

I did not find them committed to communism. I found the Chinese people committed to being Chinese. They did not see Chairman Mao as a villain. In fact, the lines were long to go see his body. After being there, it is difficult for me to see Communism in China as a negative thing. I think it is a stepping stone to freedom. They could never have gotten themselves out of feudalism without help. Unfortunately America was not willing to help when they asked us, so there was no one to go to but the Soviets.

I believe that Communism will fall in China. The Chinese people have a work ethic and they are demanding and getting their rights as we speak.
