But there are things he could have done, that he's refused to do.
He could have stopped the filling of the Strategic Petroleum reserve, and sold the oil the government receives as royalties on the open market.
This wouldn't bring the price down by much, but it would be doing something.
Every action Bush has taken has put upward pressure on the price of oil.
And it was Bush himself who said it.
So now we are stupid for blaming him for not doing what he said he'd do?
We are just pointing out what he said, so that the idiots who believed him will think twice about believing what John McCain says.
