I think that the Democrats are trying to solve problems. But they are inhibited by trying to adhere to their parties ideals. Their solutions for most things aren't the intellegent solutions but the ones they think will gain them party support. The Republicans have the same problem but I happen to think their solutions are generally more intellegent than the Democrats. However I remain firmly independent because both parties are trying to take over the government not solve its problems

I think that the Dems just spend too much time taking opposition to Republican positions or developing wedge-issues to demonize Republicans. They tend to obstruct rather then solve. They don't worry about the side effect of their actions.
