Are you referring to religion? Last time I checked, that sort of thing is completely voluntary.
And as far as that goes, I think my kid is better off with an introduction to Christianity and Christian principles than not. Even if he discards many of the particulars in time, the foundations of the philosophy will likely remain. You don't like/need it? Meh, that's your choice. Advantage, him, though.
Meanwhile, the New Religion of Man-Made Global Warming is nothing but hysteria sourced from self-important self-interested activists determined to use it as a method to achieve global redistribution of wealth (read: socialism). They follow the usual leftist M.O. of interjecting their nonsense into public school curricula, squashing dissent by attempting to marginalize and/or punish (quite literally) opponents, and generally making their way of thinking dominate just about every form of communication. Exposure to this bad religion is compulsory. Subscription to it, however, is heretofore avoidable.
Just like the geniuses that confidently predicted an ice age by now or the ones that were convinced we'd already be suffering a global heterosexual AIDS pandemic...these climate people will eventually have to admit they're full of shit. Here's hoping they actually man up and take responsibility for their, um, irresponsibility.
