I avoided "the drink" because I just saw no reason to do so. As soon as I turned 21 I gave it a go, decided that it tasted nasty in addition to it being expensive, and that was that. I haven't tried cigarettes or marijuana yet, but that's something I don't even want to try anyways.
And to add, it's ok for someone under the age of 21 to drink alcohol in Nevada if it's in a private residence and it's provided by that person's parent/guardian.
