McCain could have an OP-ED piece in the NYT, except he doesn't have a plan for Iraq (his big issue) that he can articulate, all he can do is criticize Obama's plan.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi PM, endorses Obama's plan as being very realistic.

US politics isn't issue and detail driven, if it were, there would be more Democrats in office. US politics is largely image based, something that the GOP has used to it's great advantage over the last decade.
Which is why the choice of John McCain as the nominee surprised me, I thought Romney would be a guy they could run with, McCain just doesn't appear to have the skills that a GOP candidate needs to succeed in the general election, and if he does have those skills, what is he waiting for?
