I've seen two Obama press conferences in the last couple of weeks and both were painful to watch.
Obama has good reason not to expose himself. Speaking with prepared speeches in front of adoring crowds is one thing, but standing next to someone who actually has a good handle on the issues is a bit too much to ask for Obama.
Answering questions also seems to be very difficult for Obama because the truth is a serious problem for him. Unlike Bill Clinton and John Kerry, Obama is not a very convincing liar. By the time he gets done stuttering and stammering in a long drawn out answer nobody remembers what the question was.
