For me its the other way round, i would take any of those 3 and Bill Clinton too over this pair. McCain has not been a successful Senator, he has been one of the worst and that's saying something by the standards of the current idiotic GOP crop in Congress.
And as for Obama, he's running for Change as the Washington outsider, of which, if he were to be elected, would make him the first incumbent DC Senator to be elected President since JFK. This guy is a bigger Washinton prostitute than the DC madam, how stupid does he take his fans as being?

How has McCain been one of the worst exactly? I don't see it.
And yes Obama is a senator which makes the statement but then again he hasn't been one all that long which is the only instance I could see that as a positive. I don't really view all in Washington with one generalization but rather as individuals. Why do people assume that politicians at the state level are any better anyway? They certainly are not here in Kentucky. Anyway I see the whole Washington outsider as being something that sounds good rather than something that means anything. People respond better to generalities though.
