I would agree on both points.
It is a stunt, but it is also a problem for Pelosi on a sensitive and controversial topic.
It is a serious problem for Dems - and not only because of the issue of drilling itself. It brings out the only partially submerged dislike of the far left when they attempt to tell others how to live and what to think. The essential idea of government regulation standing in the way is still a powerful focus for critisism, and Pelosi is playing right into it.
There has been little coverage in the media, as they take care to protect the Beloved One and the Dem congess from criticism.
Most media outlets are committed without reservation to ONE GOAL:
ELECT OBAMA AT ANY COST. The Beloved One
MUST be elected, and we are his high priests.
As a result, they are careful to avoid stories that might put him or the Dems in a bad light. But the news on this is spreading anyway. In that sense, the stunt is working.
