It's true, the Republicans have been beating the shit out of the Democrats, especially since Clinton left office.

I think the primary reason is that they are less clear as to whose interests they are serving and end up alienating a significant part of their base. Really speaking, about the only good reason to vote for Dems is to keep out the Repubs. They do a half-assed job on every issue they claim to support, from the environment to jobs in America. They're pathetic.
