At the time in question (dropping of the bomb) germany was out of the picture. sorry if i stay with reality on this one. Japan had no ability to militarize without access to outside resources (which is why they expanded to begin with) so you are failing to make sense.

Their word is useless here. They had no ability to remilitarize without access to overseas resources, which they could not do without a navy, and they need access to overseas resources to build a navy!

So, here in all practical purposes they were defeated, just not technically because they would not surrender. So you are supporting the vaporization of human life (humans who were under the grip of totalitarianism) over a technicality?
