Re: Palin Speech
I don't know if McCain-Palin are going to win by running against the media. That's certainly not the kind of argument that appeals to independents. There are very good lines there, it will make the base excited. But will it change peoples minds away from Obama? Seems unlikely. It is the kind of speech that should produce a 1-2 point bounce by Friday which will still leave McCain behind. New swing state polls aren't looking to good. Obama up 12 in Minnesota, up 15 in Iowa and up 2 in Ohio. If McCain doesn't win New Mexico, CO and Iowa his chances become very very slim.

Yesterday, John McCain actually said that if he’s president he’ll take on, and I quote, 'the old boys’ network in Washington.' I’m not making this up. This is somebody been in Congress for 26 years, who put seven of the most powerful Washington lobbyists in charge of his campaign. And now he tells us that he’s the one who’s gonna take on the old boys' network,” he said. “In the McCain campaign that’s called a staff meeting!- Obama, 9/17/2008
