But this speech is once again, showing the Republicans don't get it about the electorate. People are tuning into this speech to learn ABOUT Sarah Palin, the vast majority of Americans don't know taco about her. And so, while her experience may be vast and extensive and greater than Obama's it's a bit odd to have an unfamiliar politician telling you they are more experienced than one you've gotten to know over the last year and a half, even if you haven't been following the election. I don't know if they thought how this would play at home to everyday Americans past the opening section which was her bio.

And yes the Veep is supposed to be an attack dog, but Joe Biden did not attack McCain's life and biography, Palin went after him real personally. And do you really want to energize Democrats. You're trying to appeal to them I would think. I don't know...odd.

No, I they're clearly digging their heals in, and the tone they're striking is "You're With Us Or You're Against Us!". Their base is finally excited now, and she showed some balls tonight, but it'll take some time to see if waging a war on the media will work. So the base ought to be quite happy and relieved by her performance tonight, but it'll be interesting to see what happens with moderates.

And to see if McCain/Palin can adopt this message of "Change" coined by Obama and run on that instead of the experience McCain has been running on for the last few months.

What's clear is that we're seeing a culture war in America now.
