In terms of the purpose of a convention speech, which I believe is to rouse the delegates and create enthusiasm, more style over real substance, I think her speech was far and away the best one I saw in either convention. Michelle Obama's was pretty good, former Pres. Clinton's was very good, but Gov. Palin's was extraordinary. I would say it was the best speech I have seen at a convention since Ronald Reagan in 1980, or perhaps even better than Barry Goldwater's in 1964, which is thought to be ground zero for the conservative movement in this country.
