That doesn't keep you from your ad hominem tendencies and cowardly swipes, though. Don't worry, both Steve and I are pretty tough and can handle such weak arguments changing the focus of the topic to the poster.

So, enough of your silliness and onto the topic. As there is no deal - the Republicans have offered something new and pissed off both the Dems and the President - I wonder if there will be a debate today? I fully expected a deal, based on Democrats time in front of the camera yesterday and assumed that the debate would go on. Now there is no deal.

Interestingly enough, neither JSM nor BHO had much to offer during the meeting last night, yet the move by House Republicans is being blamed on JSM.

So, either the Dems were playing the press by giving the impression that there would be a deal, knowing full well the Republicans were not cool with it, or the Republicans did a last minute U-turn. It's hard to tell.

Yeah, I can't tell if McCain is to blame for that. What is for sure is that the minute Obama and McCain got to Washington, everything started to go to shit.

It's like partisan defenses went up and it turned everyone stupid.

I can't tell if McCain was supposed to get House Republicans to move a little like how Obama was supposed to move Democrats a little, or if McCain was supposed to "represent" because historically he's been a deregulator, and so the House Republican plan, headed by Boehner, is where he would normally sit on the matter.

But since McCain has lifted the same talking points about regulation, golden parachutes, and help that goes to the regular person more than the wealthy person, he's kind of stuck having to go more towards the Democrat plan. He's really put himself in the toughest of positions.

Can't wait to see what the House Republicans decide today, since apparently they're not even showing up to meet or hash anything out.
