If called, they are called in the middle of the afternoon when they are not at home. If on the computer, they usually don't answer for fear of adding cookies to their hard drive. In this technologically advanced career-focused age we live in, there still remains the existence of the housewife, who is usually home in the middle of the afternoon.
On another note, there has been times when I've answered poll-related phone calls around 6-7pm before. Most 9-5ers are home by then.
