I have another totally made up explanation which makes it as valid as yours.
Corsi went looking for some dirt. He didn't find any so he pointed out to some Kenyan officials that he didn't have the proper papers to be in the country. He was then held until his scheduled flight left the country thus avoiding an embarrassing press conference where he knew that he would be subject to ridicule because of his lack of anything substantive.
Since he has had plenty of time since he left Kenya to disclose what he found and since he has said nothing, I suspect that is exactly what he uncovered.
My explanation is made up but at least it has the benefit of correlating with the facts.
