No, here I disagree. Obama will not repeat Roosevelt's obvious political mistakes. He's not that dumb. He'll invent new ones instead.

hope so -- but that isn't part of Obama's stated agenda. So I'm not going to get my hopes up too far just yet. Actually, the more likely approach will be to amend it to remove all of the provisions that transgress civil liberties, while leaving legitimate security measures.
In any case, the main mandate Obama will have will be to take action on the economy and to pull our troops out of Iraq. On this I'm sure he'll deliver. Any other parts of what you perceive as "the left's agenda" are more uncertain.
