If it's the caliber you like, check out the BFR 45-70 revolver. I was eyeing a .444 Marlin BFR at the last gunshow I was at. They have a silky smooth action, and there's just something about a revolver with a 4" cylinder chambered for a high-powered rifle round…

The primative season is restricted to rifles with a breech action, single shot, with an octagonal barrel.
I've seen a few really cheaply made rifles out there for under 300.00 but I'm trying to find a nicer grade for around 450.00 or so. I heard H&R had a decent looking rifle out there for about 395.00, but I haven't seen it in person yet.
