The SAW is old and worn out. It is prone to some horrendous stoppages, which often require the dis-assembly of the weapon. It is a nightmare to clean, and the feed systems suck. Using a magazine for ammo source is an almost guarantee for fouling, and the plastic drums are flat out retarded.
When it does work, it is decent, but the unreliability of it is a true concern. I've been around that thing since 1993, it was a POS then, and it is still one now. By the way, a SAW and a PKM are vastly different weapons.
