I do have to agree. It might rank above Vietnam and Iraq but the Holocaust is certainly number 1 of the 4.
To be honest, there was more justification than just Japan was still fighting. To begin there was some thought we might be beginning an atomic war and should get in our best licks while we could. (There are rumours the Japanese tested bombs in Korea to this day, we know their program in Japan was bombed out, but noone has ever seen what happened to their program in Korea, and they had some people better than the Germans. They couldn't have delivered bombs to America but they could have bombed our bases and fleets.)
And while the Home Islands were pretty well done there was over a million man army of blooded veterans left in China. We needed something pretty decisive to ensure they didn't break away and try to go it alone.
