I see that you are from Europe, and I am aware that most of the hash on the street is called soapbar which can contain motor-oil and plastic. You would be considered to be lucky if you got soapbar that has 7% cannabinoids potency and much of the time the potency is much lower than that. Properly made hash should have a potency of 25%+ cannabinoids.

^If this is what you are referring to as hash than that is not an accurate portrayal of what would be available under quality controlled standards. Just like bathtub gin is not an accurate portrayal of the effects of alcohol.
After 6 years of smoking, I've never seen soapbar hash before. After some 'googling', It appears to me that it's mainly a UK/Ireland phenomenon? Even in Ireland, soapbar hash seems to be extincted. During vacations in Ireland, I always managed to get a hold on good hash.
The Netherlands and it's neighbours sure have good hash and weed. Trimbos (the dutch institute of mental health and addiction) tests a lot of hash and cannabis. Dutch weed (of which 80% is exported throughout Europe) contains an average of 17% THC (foreign weed-mainly marrocon: 7%) and Dutch Hash 28% THC (foreign hash: 17%).
The institute also found little evidence of adds which are bad for your health, although an occassional case happens.

I must admit I don't know nothing about the cannabis scene outside Western Europe.

It's weird that Americans think European weed and hash sucks. I thought it was the other way around. In some Dutch coffeeshops, Americans are asked to smoke outside, because they tend to vomit a lot (they underestimate the strength).
