I know this might sound an odd comment but the general trend on all those graphs which show a time period of over 4 years show a general upward trend. One big drop in the last year does not a summer make. Look at the HadCRUT graph and the GISS graph, both show significant general warming. The GISS graph, which runs back to 1900 shows that this year was no colder than 2000 and is a huge anomoly/drop and is no lower than the average tempreture in the 1980's.
