I used to respect Powell, however much I may have disagreed with him on policy. That all changed when I found out that he knew almost immediately that it was his guy, Richard Armitage who had leaked Valerie Plame's name and her role in her husband's trip. It was deeply dishonorable for him not to inform his President of that fact. He allowed the administration to face years of rhetorical and legal assault which could have been avoided by revealing what he knew to the President.
