I suspect that people who attempt to avoid being forced to buy insurance will face something like the special forces scenario eventually.

The point is, this isn't a tax. It's forcing people to buy a product from a third party company. It's forcing people to guarantee the profits of the insurance companies. If you're saying it's a tax, then I'm asking where in the fucking constitution does it give insurance companies the right to levy taxes???

This whole thing is corporatist government at it's worst. The plan is designed to satisfy all the "major players", Insurance cos., Hospitals, Doctors, Big Pharma - at our expense. The individual mandate is a crass attempt by the Insurance lobby to maintain the status quo and keep us herded into their pens by force of law.

Insurance has created this mess. People are starting to figure this out and dropping insurance altogether in favor of alternative solutions. The insurance companies have seen this trend and are making their last ditch attempt to squeeze every last drop of blood out of a captive market. If Obama let's them, he's betrayed us every bit as much as Bush.

The individual mandate is a cruel facade that allows congress to pretend they've done something positive. All it will do is make it illegal to move away from a scheme that is a proven failure. They're committing all of us to a collapsing system.
