Your "embarrassment" was due to ignorance and being quite naive. Homosexuality is a mental disorder, involves the Law of Karma, Fate Karma, and associations from past lives, and it is the result of a MIND in conflict.

People who are short on experience, Spirituality, or Knowledge will be pulled into the MIND trap that homosexuality is merely a matter of "choice". But it is quite a bit more than that. It signals an individual who is fixated on sexuality, which means a person whose attention is fixed in a very low Chakra [subtle energy center of the Astral body], and thus limited in both Conscience and Discretion. Once this false identity is adopted by a person's MIND, it requires a constant attending to the delusional behavioral activities that compliment and keep the person caught in this false identity that was adopted by this persons MIND due to an intense fear that this false idneity is masking.

The belief that one is a homosexual is based on delusional thinking fed to the Left-Hemisphere of this persons brain by the persons MIND realm. It can be corrected but only by a fully competent psychotherapist.... of which there are very few today. Most therapists today have no idea what the Esoteric MIND is, and are therefore confused and threatened by the intensity of the illness of homosexuality.
