No, not really. The military is like the police or like monks: there is a universal mindset and bonding; cultural influences before entering should not be as strong as the new bonds made inside, so to speak. The same arguments were used in England before they made the change and admitted homos, and
nothing whatsoever happened.
If some southern fuck doesn't like a homo in his unit, he sounds like the problem, no the homo. And how many southerners didn't want to serve next to blacks? And what happened?
