Why do people think that the only way to lower health care costs is to get a "public option"? They seem to imply that it's either a "public option" or health care costs go up and there is no other choice. It looks like a big false alternative fallacy to me.

1. Men are endowed by God with inalienable rights.
2. Government's purpose is to secure man's God-given rights.
