You are exactly right. The damage done to that generation is immeasurable and I don't mean in terms of individuals alone. The families of those who survived that debacle have lived with men who are not the same men they were before they were sent to Viet Nam. IMNSHO, the media engineered the abuse that those men took during AND after the war. They for the most part are either ice men, drug addicts, volatile explosive maniacs, or suicides. That kind of thing is SO injurious to the entire family. So, yes, and entire GENERATION suffered the manipulations of the media during VN.
The media is the ultimate hypocrite and the ultimate persecutor. I don't know why people still give ANY credence to them at all.
