The SCA covers such a broad range of countries and time periods (600-1600) that portraying actual countries would be really hard. You tend to have an eclectic bunch of personas that aren't related to each other. Can you actually imagine a Highlands Scott, a Viking, a 15th century French nobleman sitting in the same spot and being able to get along. Like I said the SCA is great fun but fully historically accurate it isn't. You might want to check out the ARMA (
Association of Renaissance Martial Artist). I think you would actually like them a bit better if there is a group close to you. They are all about the actual historical techniques of combat instead of the personna.
