Re: Another "Birther" lawsuit gets slapped down
Had Obama done everything the birthers want in terms of public disclosure, they would simply find something else new and wrong about the evidence shown, like the doctor who delivered him wasn't a licensed doctor at the time so that invalidates the birth certificate, and therefore Obama wasn't really born, or some stupid shit like that.
The State of Hawaii has said that Obama was born in Hawaii. States have the power to determine who is a legal resident of their state, and how to issue birth certificates, death certificates, and marriage licenses. Hawaii has come out with the official position that Obama was born in Hawaii, so to invalidate that you either have to invalidate the power of states to certify a birth or to preempt that power by federal power (as though we need a more powerful federal government). I don't see the birthers succeeding on that issue.
If Obama wants to fight the retardedness of most of the claims by stonewalling them, then kudos to him for learning something from the republican playbook.
It certainly didn't give Kerry any success to let himself get swiftboated. Obama ran a smart enough campaign to not get 'birthed'.
