MRGO (Mississippi River Gulf Outlet) has been a thorn in the side of SE Louisiana for years and it was finally closed this year. It was originally built as a shortcut for ships but seldom saw more than a ship a day, and because it was poorly maintained, erosion tripled the width over the years. During Katrina, MRGO actually provided a means for the storm surge that contributed to the levee breaches in some areas, something some have said for years could happen. Now, a judge has decided that ACE is responsible and has awarded $700,000 in damages to several which has opened the door for others in their own lawsuits against the government. All I can say is it's about damn time!

It may not be about New Orleans "as a whole" but I do believe it's where all the main damage was done
And I'm still waiting to see how you're going to blame this on the Governor or the Mayor like you've consistently done everything else that happened there.
