I loved this line from the Chicago Tribune editorial page on Friday, Nov. 3 "the senator's real estate tie to Rezko threatens to leave Obama hoisted by his ethics petard".
Thanks for the links. I was wondering about that $300K business. From the first link:

To recap: Obama inked a book deal after winning election to the Senate in 2004. With his new wealth, in June 2005, Obama bought a $1.65 million mansion in Kenwood, some $300,000 below asking price. Rezko's wife Rita paid $625,000, the list price, for an adjacent empty lot the Rezkos may develop.
The deals closed the same day because the seller insisted both parcels be sold at the same time.
Very good deal. I think Obama's subsequent action re: the extra strip of land was fine, but this first one showed poor judgement. It's a deal that most of us (if financially able to) would jump on, but for someone in public office, it doesn't look good.

It's a bump in the road, but nothing more. It will give the clowns on FOX "News" something to talk about, but that's about it.
