Just checking through - out of the 5 threads on the environment forum that have been open in the last day, three have final posts by the same person - one most inclined to post pictures that are irrelevant to the issues at hand. I also note that the point at which you stated this thread began to fall apart was when this same person began to post his irrlevant pictures and people responded to this.
I am very interested in environmental issues. I have started a lot of threads on these issues and have made a habit of providing current links which report on issues related to climate change.
I also live in a region that is affected by climate change, have contact with people researching the effects of this and have contact with many others who can see their lives and their futures being severely affected (this week I was talking to a guy from Kiribati - highest point 3 metres above sea level - a coral atoll where beaches are already being washed away. believe me - such people take climate change very very seriously).
I wondered if I were beginning to have caught the kind of paranoia that is evident among many of the posters on this forum when I began to think that certain people don't want me to express my point of view, or provide links that the American public don't usually access. (Its not that these links aren't easy enough to find - if you know where to look - just that people don't seek out information if its too hard.)
However I am beginning to believe that a certain poster on USPO has an agenda to silence people like me, which is why he is trolling on this subforum, and several others.
His posts are usually guaranteed to drive a thread off topic, usually consist of inane repetitive comments that have very little bearing to the issue being discussed, his 'responses' to other posters could be written by a robot and he takes up an excessive amount of bandwidth posting irrelevant pictures and articles that are outdated/have no bearing on anything.
Allowing someone like this to dominate the forum (he is also the last poster on 25% of war and peace threads in the last 12 hours) detracts from the quality of this forum.
this should be considered.
