A bleak picture of a generation of young British Muslims radicalised by anti-Western views and misplaced multicultural policies is shown in a survey published today.
The study found disturbing evidence of young Muslims adopting more fundamentalist beliefs on key social and political issues than their parents or grandparents.
Forty per cent of Muslims between the ages of 16 and 24 said they would prefer to live under sharia law in Britain, a legal system based on the teachings of the Koran. The figure among over-55s, in contrast, was only 17 per cent.
In some countries, people found guilty under sharia law face penalties such as beheading, stoning, the severing of a hand or being lashed. |
Grim times, no doubt.
I have two opinions on this;
Muslims are culturally untouchable in modern Britain. The first word of criticism has loons out on the streets burning flags and threatening to crush the West. Add to a supremely arrogant (white) politically correct elite, whose current minority of choice just happens to be Muslims (I can never figure out why the atheist, self-indulgent moralisers of the left ignore extremist religious doctrines such as Sharia law, but that's modern liberals for you) and you have a problem. The persecution complex that many Muslims seem to have is out of control.
We are always hearing how 'moderate' Muslims condemn such extremism, but in practice this rarely happens.
On the other hand, you have the hedonism of modern Britain. Drunken yobs, vomit-spattered streets, shambolic education and health sytems, feckless disregard for courtesy, tolerance or community, etc, etc. Need i go on?
The Britain proposed by Sixties liberals and carefully crafted by every Government since is enough to make anyone turn extreme.
