I am not personally but the people of the UK would seem to have reason to fear the rather large radical minority within that population!
- 75% of young Muslims between 16-24 would prefer Muslim women to "choose to wear the veil or hijab"
- 70% of minority prisoners in the UK are Muslim.
- 58% of UK Muslims believe that many of the world's problems are "a result of arrogant Western attitudes".
- 56% of UK Muslims understand why radical Muslims would launch bombing terrorist attacks such as those launched in London on 7/7
- 50% of UK Muslims would consider becoming suicide bombers if they lived in Palestine
- 40% of UK Muslims between the ages of 16-24 would prefer to live under 'Sharia Law' in the United Kingdom as a whole (Most recent poll) 'In some countries, people found guilty under sharia law face penalties such as beheading, stoning, the severing of a hand or being lashed.'
- 40% of UK Muslims (no age specifications/stated divisions) polled want Sharia Law implemented in “predominantly Muslim” areas of Britain (Older Poll)
- 40% of younger Muslims said they would want their children to attend an Islamic school
- 36% of the young UK Muslims questioned said they believed that a Muslim who converts to another religion should be "punished by death."
- 32% of UK Muslims view western culture as decadent and believe it should be destroyed. 1% would be willing to use violence to accomplish this goal; this translates into approximately 16,000 people willing to use violence to destroy western culture.
- 26% of UK Muslims were reluctant to dismiss the beliefs of the London 7/7 bombers as "perverted and poisonous"
- 24% of UK Muslims sympathized with the feelings and motives of the 7/7 bombers
- 13% of UK Muslims believe the 7/7 bombers should be regarded as Martyrs; ’With a Muslim population in Britain estimated at 1.6 million, this means that some 208,000 British Muslims regard these killers with what can only be described as a worshipful attitude.’
- 13% of UK Muslims believe that Al-Qaeda attacks on the United States are justified
- 12% of young UK Muslims admire groups like Al-Qaeda and would be willing to fight the west.
- 15% (On top of the above 13%) of UK Muslims did not know whether such Al-Qaeda attacks on the United States were right or wrong
- 19% of UK Muslims (age 55+) questioned said they believed that a Muslim who converts to another religion should be "punished by death."
- 6% of UK Muslims believe that the 7/7 bombings were entirely justified; ’Six per cent may seem a small proportion but in absolute numbers it amounts to about 100,000 individuals who, if not prepared to carry out terrorist acts, are ready to support those who do.’
- 10% of UK Muslims feel no loyalty to the United Kingdom; ’If these findings are accurate, and they probably are, well over 100,000 British Muslims feel no loyalty whatsoever’ towards the United Kingdom.
- 8% of UK Muslims feel little loyalty to the United Kingdom
- Scotland Yard estimates that 3,000 British-based Muslims have joined Al-Qaeda forces in Afghanistan
